Over the years I enouraged the flock to be light and salt in the work place. To penetrate a dark place with the good news of Christ. It was easy to give this encouragement from the safe sanctuary of the "pastors" office. For the past 10 months I've been in a very dark place, an industry known for its lack of integrity, honesty and truth. The training emphasized to "fake it until you make it." The pull to compromise ones standards is very strong. So, I made a decision when I started to see if what I had encouraged the flock to do and be was do-able, practical and possible. I told my boss that I would not lie or exagerate to make a sale. I set my stanards and haven't moved. The results are: I have a cell meeting at work and group prayer every morning. I have led co-workers to the Lord. Prayed for the sick (saw some instantly healed) have seen a change in the atmosphere of the resort and co-workers come for counsel and prayer. Because of the high turnover of staff I get the opportunity to sow seeds into many lives not knowing what the outcome might be. My flock has changed from the walls of a church to the people that I meet with every day. I've come to realize that being light and salt is not only what Jesus told us to be, it is possible to see His power released in the lives of hurting people even in the work place.
